9/19/04 - Here we go... This won't be too bad, It'll probably be fun... A couple weeks of excavating and a couple weeks of laying stone, we should be done by late October.
-
12" Deep, putting in drainage. Everything is going great, it is fun!!
-
3 weeks in and looking good. It seems hard to believe, but it took almost 300,000 pounds of compacted crusher run limestone to fill that little hole 8" deep. Turns out, that wasn't so much fun, but at least all we have left is the stonedust, flagstone and landscaping...
-
Getting ready to put down the first flagstones. This seems like fun again. At least the worst part is over...
-
10/31/04. Hey those stones are heavy... We spent all afternoon and only laid 7 stones?? That wasn't fun at all.
-
This could be a problem. It took us 4 hours to lay 21 sq. ft. out of 2300 sf. We're just beginners, I'm sure we'll do better tomorrow...
-
2 weeks of laying stone. It's mid November and we're less than 1/3rd done. I'm almost out of vacation, it's getting dark early, it's cold outside and we're sore all over. I wonder how hard it would be to turn this place into a nice grassy lawn??
-
Suddenly that quote to get this installed doesn't seem so bad...
-
Saturday December 4th, 5:10 p.m. with the truck headlights on, the main patio is finally done - 1600 sf out of 2300 sf. I don't think I can swing that hammer even 1 more time.
-
12/5/04 - The main patio is done. Finished just in time because we need to fill the joints and clean up today and we're getting 4" of snow tonight!! Looks like the walkways will need to wait until Spring. That gives us 4 months rest!!!
-
It looks good, let's hope it still looks like this in the Spring.
-
We'de like to enjoy it now, but there is still the matter of those pesky walkways and landscaping in the Spring.
